Tomorrows fast

Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. Psalm 133.

After last week’s post, my brother Sid in Tampa sent me some scriptures and he discerned my heart was aching for unity.  He was right and his references in Mark and Luke where about the disciples coming to Jesus to complain about people who were not of them casting out demons in His name.  Jesus told them that they should not forbid anyone who is praying for miracles in His name.  Point taken, thanks, Sid.

I admit that in the last few years I have attended several churches of different denominations and came away scratching my head about some of the things I heard or did not hear.  God sent me to Ephesians 4 where I read the answer.  “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”  Praise God, just as last weeks post said, we are all gifted differently in order that we might build each other up in Christ for the sake of the body.  John writes in 1 John 4:7-8 that we need to love one another to show that we are born of God and know God, for God is love.

I LOVE YOU, Jim
