Tomorrow

I am going to break from fasting tomorrow due to the celebration of our nation’s independence. I feel I must eat a hot dog and a hamburger to feel patriotic. However, I will not be neglecting the praying part as I think more than ever we need to unite in prayer of our great nation.
God bless America, land that I love. Stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above. Please sing that with me tomorrow as part of our prayer as I feel the nation needs His guidance like never before. FYI, this wonderful song was written by Erving Berlin in 1918 but was not introduced to the world until 1938 in response to the war in Europe. Kate Smith sang it first on her radio show on the official introduction of Armistice Day which later became Veterans Day. And as we celebrate, please remember the source of freedom, Jesus The Christ from whom all blessings flow. God reminds us in Ephesians chapter 4 to “walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing one another in love, endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” If this is to happen in our great country it must begin with us, according to our calling in Christ, for there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. God bless America and God bless you!
