Tomorrow

Smith Wigglesworth says in today’s reading that we are here on probation to slay the Enemy and destroy the kingdoms of darkness, to move among satanic forces and subdue them in the name of Jesus.  I continue to be amazed at the lack of compassion in our nation these days.  This morning in prayer I asked for more compassion as the events of recent days has stretched mine to near breaking point.  I find myself angry at the way we are treating each other and Peggy was more than willing to remind me of my anger. Jesus came to give us another way, He demonstrated it many times through His compassion.  I read today about the time He came upon a funeral procession for the only son of a widow which was a big deal in those days since she would not have anyone to help her.  Jesus had compassion for her (and He did not know her), so He touched the corpse in the coffin and said, arise.  The compassion and power of Jesus overcame death and it can overcome anything we are dealing with.  I am encouraged that many of our leaders are trying to talk with leaders on all sides and trying to understand.  As I said last week, it’s about loving one another and loving God.  I see a lot of nice scriptures quoted on Facebook and a lot of sweet platitudes but not much action in the news toward reconciliation.  I think the answer is God, but I do not know how to get there.  It seems that since Cain we have had the problem of jealousy/hatred and whether it is a rock or a gun the result is the same.  Without Christ the human nature is evil and it is up to us to stand against the Enemy and destroy the darkness.  We can only do that by exemplifying Jesus and His continuing compassion for all people, who were created in the likeness of His Father.  The life that God gave us is red no matter the skin color that contains it.  Are we as Christians larger than the enemy?  Can we show compassion in the face of conflict and danger?  It is difficult to do so in the face of innocent people being killed and property being destroyed, but we must!!!  God Bless Tonight we will continue our study in Hebrews chapter 11, a good read for everyone in the face of having faith even when it seems hopeless….it is not!
