Tomorrow

This morning I read a story by Smith Wigglesworth about a trip he made to Blackpool England.  People I talk with are always amazed that we have 8’ tides every day in Savannah, sometimes we even see 10-12’.  Blackpool has 25’ tides every day and having been in boating for 40 years here and dealing with the rigors of handling 8’, I can’t imagine a 25’ swing.  Smith was talking with a builder as he noticed that he was building houses on sand knowing the tide can be devastating.  Around here we have the same problem as houses like mine built before the restrictions on height are being destroyed by rising water.  This builder ignored the advice and sure enough, the houses were destroyed.  This leads me to Luke 6:46-49 where Jesus was teaching this same lesson.  He compared us to the builder when He said, “but why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and not do the things which I say?”  “He is like a man who built his house on sand, without a proper foundation and it also was destroyed as opposed to the man who heard and obeyed.  He dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock and nothing could shake his house.  Jesus goes on, “Whoever comes to Me, and hears My saying and DOES THEM, is like the man who built on the rock.  Brothers and sisters, have you heard the words of Jesus?  Are you obeying them?  He is the Rock!!!  As we charge into a new year with our praying and fasting lets’ take a minute and see if we are also digging down deep and building on the Rock by being obedient to His word.

For our Bible study group, we will meet on the 22nd at 7:00.

Bless you all and remember to focus on the Rock!
