In church Sunday the preacher used the text from Isaiah 9:6 which is one of my favorite verses and also one of my favorite songs for the season.
“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
All of these names for our precious Lord reminds me just how important it is to pray and fast together tomorrow.
More than ever in our country we need to realize that,
He is the given Son of God, given for our eternal life.
That all government is subservient to Him and will be held accountable to Him.
He is astoundingly Wonderful
He is our ultimate Counselor and our Very God.
He is the Father forever and as the Prince of Peace has written the formula for world peace.
Let’s pray tomorrow for the day when the Lion and the lamb will lie together in peace and we as the ambassadors of Christ can work together to banish the vitriol and divisiveness of our fall season and get us prepared to celebrate the Advent. Now I’m getting in the Christmas Spirit!!!! Praise God.
