Tomorrow

As I prayed about our fast tomorrow I was reminded of a scripture that I read a few days ago from Galatians 5:13.  I admit that I have been angry and confused about what is going on in our country of late and as I prepare to join you in prayer and fasting this scripture help me get my heart in the right place.  “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another.”  When I consider that Jesus used the parable in which an enemy was the one that stopped to help the Jew in the ditch to teach this lesson, I must get over my anger and hurt at the divisiveness and bitterness which defines our nation currently.  Paul teaches here that the whole law is captured by this verse and I am reminded to pray for my enemies.  I will do so tomorrow as we fast and seek God together for among other things, this nation and to seek healing for our land.  In Him we live and move and have our very being….He’s got the whole world in His hands, relax.
