A lot of prayers and fasting have already gone up in anticipation of today. Election day will soon be over and we will live with the fallout. Praise God!
No matter what happens we are assured of victory in Jesus. As I prayed about today I was reminded of one of my favorite Psalms. Psalm 46 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.
I am sure that tomorrow as we fast and pray together there will be a lot of fear, gnashing of teeth, profanity, accusations, blame, and screaming going on around the country. But my God has said that even if the entire earth be removed we should not fear. He is still in charge and His plan is my plan, what ever that is and we will find out as it unfolds. I love it that there are 365 references to fear not in the Bible as He knows that we can find something to be fearful about every day. Let’s make our prayer tomorrow the one that God gave Solomon when things seemed good in the land. He said, when I shut heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Praise God! He is faithful and just. All we need to do is obey, everything will be alright for those who obey God. Bless you.
