Tomorrow

I am studying 3rd John in preparation for our Bible study next Tuesday, we have been fascinated going through 1st and 2nd in recent weeks.  Unlike Jack Nicholson in the movie when he said, “you can’t handle the truth”, John the beloved thinks we can as he goes into great detail to explain.  I find that the meaning of truth is reality.  Therefore, if I use reality where John writes truth it helps me to understand.  John starts off, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.  For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”  He continues, “Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the church.”  What a lovely thought, people testifying before the church of your good works borne out of love.  Do you think this is what Jesus had in mind when He said, ‘Love thy neighbor as you love yourself.”?  Do you think if the world could hear this message there would be less darkness within?  How are they going to know if we don’t tell them?  Please pray about these thoughts tomorrow as we fast and pray together.  In Him we live and moved and have our very being, Jim
