Thanksgiving week!  Wow, where did the year go?  I am re-reading the book of Jude today in preparation for our Bible Study tonight and I am overwhelmed by the gratitude when I consider all that I have to be thankful for.  Jude is full of warnings about false teachers who were infiltrating the church then and now.  I was lead to a passage in Timothy as I studied, 2 Timothy 4:3-4.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.  Does that sound familiar for today? When I read of splendor and wealth that some of our current “teachers” enjoy, I am reminded of what Jude said.  He said there were certain men who knew how to use smooth, flattering words to get an advantage over other people.  They would say anything – good or bad – to get an advantage.  What a great study from such a small little book.  We have been studying it for a couple of months and tonight we will probably finish it as we read his great doxology:

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling

And to present you faultless

Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,

To God our Savior,

Who alone is wise,

Be glory and majesty,

Dominion and power,

Both now and forever.  Amen

I know it will be difficult to fast tomorrow with the wonderful aroma’s filling the house, but as the joke goes, keep your fork, the best is yet to come.

Praise God and have a wonderful, thankful week.
