Sacrifice of Praise

I am back, I was in the weeds last week and did not send out the reminder to fast and pray on Wednesday.  I came into the office Tuesday morning and after some reading time, I went to the computer to communicate only to find out I did not have an internet connection.  I discovered that after many attempts to reboot, including shutting it completely down and bringing it back up.  I thought Microsoft had gone on another walkabout.  I finally called the IT person and she tried for some time to figure it out as well.  In frustration, I finally called it a day and we agreed to try again tomorrow.  We brought in the offsite IT guy and by the end of that day, we called again to comcast only to be told that they had not received payment from our accounting department.  WHAT!!!  We gave the necessary credit card info and we were back up in less than an hour. But by then the lack of food and the stress had worn me out so I am sorry.  I know from whence cometh my strength but as am sure we all know, sometimes life is had to handle.  Charles Spurgeon said, “It means, first let us have fellowship with Him.  He was despised; He had no credit for charity, He was mocked in the streets; He was hissed at; He was hounded from among society.  If I take a smooth part, I can have no fellowship with Him; fellowship requires a like experience.”  We are studying Hebrews 13 tonight in our Bible study and this quote is part of the notes.  Verse 13-15 says, “Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.  For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.  Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks in His name.”  Once again we have plenty to pray about tomorrow.  I thought this COVID was ending but this past week another good friend is in the hospital and a dear young person has been tested positive.   We are having to meet digitally again tonight as we continue to try to protect Peggy and her autoimmune problem.  Let’s remember our nation, our president, the hurricane victims, and each other tomorrow during our fast.  God Bless, Jim!  I just remembered an old song.  Bear with me:

We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord

We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord

And we offer up to You the sacrifices of thanksgiving

And we offer up to You the sacrifices of Joy!
