I feel like we should be getting ready for the 4th of July and instead, we are preparing the turkey. I love Thanksgiving but this year (like the last several) has flown by so quickly I feel like if I blink I might miss something. As we fast and pray tomorrow which is a good idea for two reasons this week I trust we will look to God in thankfulness for all that He has done. I heard someone say this week that they were thankful they could walk. I want to share Psalm 100 with you today to put us all in the mode to give thanks with a grateful heart. “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy endures to all generations.” Praise God, please remember His word this week and encourage your family and friends to give thanks for all He has done, including that turkey and trimmings. I love family above anything next to my Lord and I pray that mine and yours will realize what Jesus has done for them and give thanks with a grateful heart. As Gordon Hinckley said, “Gratefulness is the beginning of Wisdom”, I get from scripture that Wisdom is Jesus Christ. Wow, what a great world this would be if everyone I know would come to Christ through thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving! Be blessed. Jim
