Fast Tomorrow

“Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”  As I went back and studied the account of this rebellion in Exodus and Numbers I was reminded of how this relates to us today.  This generation, the very one that God delivered from Egypt through Moses, the very one that saw the miracles in Egypt, the parting of the sea for their escape, the pillar of fire and the cloud, and on and on, complained and griped at every turn.  It seems that nothing satisfied them.  We are studying Hebrews in our Bible study tonight and this verse 3:15 just jumped out at me.  God, in His mercy kept giving them what they needed as they complained but they always wanted something else.  They needed water in Exodus 17 and God told Moses to strike a rock on Mt. Horeb to provide the living water which was done as a way to point to Jesus who was struck for us and provides us with living water for eternity.  The second time in Numbers, God told Moses to speak to the rock and he struck it again instead.  Jesus was only struck once for the forgiveness of our sins and this messed up the message.  It seems that they started complaining shortly after they were delivered through the Red Sea and God said, enough!  Your guys will not enter my rest, (promised land).  TODAY!!!!  As I fast and pray tomorrow with you I will remind myself of all the things I have to be thankful for and thank God and Praise God for my lot in life.  If this generation and the one behind most of us do not stop complaining and start appreciating what God has done we risk not receiving His rest.  So join me tomorrow and every day praising God for Who He is and all that He has done for one such as I.  Bless you!

Life meets tonight and you are invited.
